It depends. Live plants are useful in the ammonia cycle and Beneficial in other ways, but you also have to feed them, get the right lighting, and DO NOT LET YOUR FISH EAT THEM OR PUT GOLDFISH IN THE TANK.

Once you hve your new aquarium be sure to cycle it 1-7 days for a power filter and 14-21 days with a undergravel filter. Also add one fish at a time and build it up slowly.

As you said in another post the size you want to get is 10-20. I would have to agree that those sizes are the easiest, but a twenty or twentyfive gallon would not be much more. It is your decision though
